In a life-threatening emergency: Call 999 (police) or 998 (ambulance) immediately. From any phone, 112 connects to emergency services.
Tip: Dubai ambulance service is free for emergencies. Private hospitals may charge for non-emergency transport.
Insurance: Bring your insurance card to the ER. Most private hospitals accept major insurers. Government hospitals treat emergencies regardless of insurance.
Gas Leak: If you smell gas, do NOT use electrical switches or phones inside. Leave immediately and call 800 4627 from outside.
Lost Passport: Contact your embassy immediately. They can issue emergency travel documents within 24-48 hours. File a police report (call 901) first.
Save These to Your Phone
Add these numbers as contacts now, before you need them.
Dubai is very safe. Violent crime is rare. Most expats never need emergency services beyond minor medical visits. But it's always better to have these numbers saved and never need them.
